Hey! Thank you for stopping by.
I’m Idan. I’m a writer and storyteller.
I’ve been writing about world events that impact me both personally and professionally, and some of those texts have been published in Politiken, Weekendavisen, and Haaretz.
In my day job, I worked as a corporate communications professional, and for the past three years, I worked in a variety of non-profits in the fields of foreign investment, aid, and global health.
That’s in a nutshell. But does it capture who I really am?
Let’s try again.
I’m Idan. I was born in 1995 on the outskirts of Tel-Aviv and grew up in the coastal city of Netanya, a mere 30 kilometers away, but which felt farther away in every other sense.
As a fresh film student in Tel-Aviv in 2015, I became more aware of the socio-economic disparities between my hometown and the big city, despite their physical proximity, which in turn made me more politically aware.
That academic opportunity also increased my appetite to explore even further places and my interest in foreign affairs. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree, I took a leap of faith and moved to Scandinavia to study the politics and history of the EU.
In Scandinavia, I realized that I’ve always been Idan, the storyteller, with a persistent desire to connect with people around the globe and a need to understand how we interact with each other, as people and as nations.
Since then, I have been writing about my life in Denmark, the Scandinavian immigration policies, and the effects of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on European politics and the Jewish diaspora.
Today, I live in Copenhagen, where you’ll probably find me writing this in one of its cozy cafes.
